“Kurosagi the movie” has finally started!
Sneaking into the crank in

Yamashita Tomohisa acting as the main character Kurosaki on the crank in day. He’s filming a scene where he rides a merry-go-round and another where he looks at the monkey mountain in the zoo. In the strong heat of mid-September he films wearing a long sleeve leather jacket. During filming he looks like he doesn’t notice the heat at all, and a cool Kurosaki is portrayed.

[mid-left]
Yamapi’s heart skips a beat,
A new life experience?

Driving a car and acting at the same time for the first time in his life made for an exciting scene for Yamashita. He looks good driving in a suit!

[mid-right]
In the movie too,
There are disguises on parade!
[a lot of disguises used]

Whether it’s a garbage man, fortune teller, delinquent, or foriegn rocker, Yamashita has a variety of disguises to be seen in this film continuing from the drama version, he’ll be challenging a lot of outfits. What kind of Yamashita will we be able to see in this film!?

[lower-left]
“KUROSAGI”
Threatening Japan’s economy, the greatest “swindling crime” in history has begun to move. The fate of the single Kurosaki challenging this unparalleled evil is…? Playing the main character Kurosaki in his first leading movie role, Yamashita Tomohisa, along with Horikita Maki, Kato Kouji and even Ichikawa Yui- regulars from the drama, along with Takenaka Naoto and Shofukutei Tsurube guest staring.
In theaters 3/8.

[lower-right]
In just about 2 months filming has
Ended safely!

The last cut was in the rain, a scene where he walks through a shopping district at night. It was actually a scene filmed right after they started filming too, but they decided to refilm it. In the rain Yamashita had a serious facial expression but as soon as he heard the “OK” from the directer his whole face turned to a smile.

Yamashita Tomohisa Crank Up Interview “My first lead role in a movie was so fun it could become a habit! “

-Having finished filming safely, what are your feelings?
Because “Kurosagi” was my first lead role drama I put a lot of feelings into it, and that this work is the same as my first lead role in a movie is really great. This time I was surrounded by a lot of really amazing costars to work with, and it was fun the whole time and I fought until the end acting.
-Seeing as this was your first leading role in a movie, looking back on it how was it?
This was my first time in a movie, and it was so fun I can see it becoming a habit. If I receive a chance like this again, I think I’d definitely want to do it.
-Is there an episode from filming that will stay in your memories?
There was a time we borrowed a takoyaki resturant for filming, and when we had finished filming there the people of the shop cooked takoyaki for all of us. That was really delicious, meeting with those people I was touched by their kindness.
-What was the hardest thing during this movie filming?
(The crank up final) Scene when I’m in the rain. It was the most difficult to film, and on top of that, we had to refilm it too which was tough on me physically, but even though we had to refilm it I think it’ll become a key dramatic scene in the movie.
-Well then, lastly please give a message to all the fans who are looking forward to the movie.
From now on it’s off to be completed, the director and staff will have a lot of work editing it I think, but it will definitely turn into an interesting movie so please look forward to it!!

Translation Notes
* “Monkey mountains” at zoos are generally like a circle enclosed area with a big mountain & some rockss or something that monkeys will be in. Sometimes has a moat or something around it too. Like these.
* The whole “it could become a habit thing” is like Yamapi saying he had so much fun doing it he could get used to doing it all the time. :)
* Should be linked out.
* Sorry this is awkward at times @___@
* Feel free to comment with any questions, corrections, etc etc!

Thank you very much for translating my request.

I’d like to add a side story to your translation. At my LJ (Jan. 15), I noted that there is an update to the Kurosagi Movie website. They are giving day-by-day reports about the shooting of the movie. Anyway, with the merry-go-round scene, enshinge translated this for me:

That last picture mentions Pi, says they were filming a scene on a merry-go-round where Kurosaki and Shiraishi (Kato-san) talk, they went 12 times (each time takes at least 2 minutes), and it says “even Yamashita-kun said ‘this makes you quite dizzy…’” and then after the filming the director said to Pi, “Yamapi you’re looking cool, you’ve grown up!”

thanks for the trans!! I really can’t wait to see this movie, if only I could see it in theatres!!

watchful21I’m sorry it took so long- there’s no excuse, I just hadn’t looked at it being distracted by other things!

Actually after you pointed out the updates on the website I thought “Wow, I should really get around to that Oricon article” and as such… here it is, haha. It motivated me XD
